A videographer from the 80's. Knew a lot of people in the downtown NY scene. Died of heart attack in '89. I found out about him from the video, "Rupaul's encounter with some homophobes", because this guy knew everybody. The OG vlogger.
What was he really like? He seems as dry as a piece of toast in the Sahara desert.

Rumor is that he died of a heart attack while snorting coke off of a hustler’s cock.

R1 it's not about the video, it's about the videographer. The guy behind the camera.
R2 Good God. What a wonderful way to go!!

I love his videos, but did not know him personally.

He was way ahead of his time. If he had lived, he would likely be part of World of Wonder, and the Randy Barbato/Fenton Bailey crowd producing movies and Rupaul's Drag Race.

A friend I knew back in the 1980s knew him personally. I did meet him and some of his merry band of misfits you see in his videos once, including the tall cross dresser that was Ru Paul. I didn't know her name then. They were fun in small doses but I couldn't see spending too much time with them, they seemed even back then to be exhausting. Nelson was a drugged-up mess and slutty, but then many gays of that era were. The videos began as a fun hobby and grew considerably because of interest from local public access and cable. I know he was looking to make video documentary his full time job but died before that came to be. They say he died of a heart attack, but that was most likely the result of a drug overdose. Watching all those videos in 5-10 clips can be fun in themselves, but I could not see them as being longer features or even a short film.

I have just discovered this guy on YouTube and I am addicted to his videos! He seems so dry in personality yet I still love him.
Did anyone on DL meet him or know him? Tell us some stories of so!

I recall seeing him and his band of friends walking down St Mark's Place in the mid to late 80s. He was carrying his video camera and filming their antics. I didn't know who they were but there was a tall black cross dresser who I now assume was Ru Paul. I recently came across some of his videos on YouTube, it's like a time capsule to streets of NYC 1980s.
