Alycia Weir Utah Car Accident: In loving memory of Provo woman who died after rollover crash on I-15

Alycia Weir Obituary Utah – Car Accident: In loving memory of Provo woman who died after rollover crash on I-15 in Lindon.

21-year-old Alycia Weir of Provo sustained severe injuries in a road traffic collision that occurred when a northbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck pulling a utility trailer clipped the back of a black Suzuki SUV on Interstate 15 in Lindon on Monday.

According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cam Roden, the SUV had stopped or slowed in backed-up traffic, and the truck collided with the back of the driver’s side of the vehicle.

In a dramatic turn of events, the SUV veered sharply to the right, causing it to flip over and subsequently roll down an embankment located off the right shoulder of the road. After this harrowing sequence of events, the vehicle finally came to a stop, miraculously landing back on its wheels.

According to Roden, Weir was ejected from the SUV and has suffered critical injuries. She was transported to a medical facility via ambulance.

In the truck, there were three occupants, all of whom escaped without any injuries.

Weir was declared brain-dead Monday, her family confirmed on Tuesday.

“Those who have described Alycia use words like: Spunky! Happy! Fun! Talented… and more. She is loved by so many. Her parents and brothers love and adore her as do the other members of her family and community. At just 21 years old, she has impressed so many of us.”

According to the Utah Department of Transportation, the investigation resulted in the closure of the right three lanes of northbound I-15 for a duration of several hours.
